“People often ask me what it was like winning a TONY AWARD. I tell them ‘Great!.. and I got locked out of the Tony’s.’ Right after you win a Tony, they take you directly to the press room. It was in a restaurant next to the theater. When I was
finished with the press I tried to get back in the theater through the stage door and it was locked. I started yelling ‘Let me in. I just won a Tony!’ The stage door man did eventually hear me and let me back in. I was not amused!”
